Does any student not think they’re spending too much time on their phone? If you’re trying to break away from all the screens in your life, download this app immediately. SPACE will analyze your level of technology addiction (e.g., send you notifications saying you’re using it a bit too much), which helps you unplug from your smartphone. The Android version even has tools like a screen dimmer and notification blocker.
While the app does track the time I’m on my phone and helps me stay alert, I noticed that sometimes the timing wasn’t accurate (and other users agreed with me in the reviews). Accurate or not, it still does its job in helping you disconnect and be more alert in the real world.
SPACE tracks the amount of your phone usage and screen unlocks per day. That was interesting for the first few days because I was curious and kept checking back. However, it later became more distracting than useful and no longer what I’d call “fun.”
Even though it was a bit distracting, I still noticed I used my phone less since downloading this app. So I’d call that a win!
